January 2010
Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) is a growing concern in modern hospital environments. Many recent studies document that it is possible to significantly reduce the risk of aspiration pneumonia by performing basic patient hygiene.

INTERSURGICAL is introducing a new range of oral care products to assist in the fight against VAP. OroCare2 is an all-in-one dental care system for use in ICU. It allows simultaneous irrigation, cleaning and suctioning with just one hand. This is achieved by utilising Intersurgical’s OroFill mouthwash vials, which fit conveniently inside the toothbrush handle. OroClean Complete is a complete oral care kit for non self-sufficient patients. It contains a toothbrush with integrated irrigation option, dental cleaning gel and a bendable suction wand. Irrigation and suction may be used with the existing hospital equipment.
